THE RULES
Note: Make sure you read them carefully before applying to the club.
1. Be kind and respectful to everyone in the club.
Otherwise you will receive a strike. Also, please do not steal any of my ideas for this club as I have put a lot of work into this. If I see that you have only joined my club in order to get inspiration (steal my ideas) to create your own club then you will be banned from this club and I will report you.
2. Add the book to your library.
This is a must if you want to receive updates and notices of the weekly challenges.
3. Subscribe to the discussion page and to this website.
This is a must as I will be posting updates, notices and reminders on there.
4. Only one book per author.
This is to ensure that everyone has a chance to be noticed. You may also change your chosen book at any given time, once confirmed with me beforehand.
5. You must provide an honest yet helpful comment on a minimum of 3 chapters.
This applies to all challenges. Please begin all comments with #ALPOHBookClub so that I can easily trace your comments. Each comment must be a minimum of 2 sentences and contain constructive feedback. Do not give vague comments otherwise I will ignore your comment and it'll be noted down that you have not done your assignment properly, resulting in a strike. If the book does not have 3 chapters, than read whatever it has at that given moment. However, if you like the book you may continue reading on further, and only vote if you actually liked it.
6. Inform me when you have completed your assignment.
You can either do so by commenting on the discussion page, on the book and or by PMing me so that I can check you off. Also, if you can, please let me know which chapters you have commented on. Failure to do so will result in a strike.
7. Inform me if you are unable to meet the deadline.
If you are unable to meet the deadline for whatever reason, please do inform me beforehand (at least 24 hours in advance) for an extended deadline (of up to two weeks). Failure to do so will result in a strike. If you request an extension then you will not be given an assignment for the next week.
8. You do not have to participate every week.
If you do not want to participate every week then let me know at least 24 hours before I assign the challenges for that week. You will not be penalised for it at all. In fact, it is your choice on whether or not you would like a break from the club. However, please also inform me if you do want to leave permanently.
9. Three strikes and you are out.
Failure to comply with the rules will result in a strike. If you receive three strikes then you will be permanently banned from the club. However, you will get a chance to remove your strike! Head over to the FAQs for more info on this!
10. Have fun!
Don't forget to have fun and interact with everyone. This is a place to not only meet great authors but to meet new friends as well. So enjoy and I hope you all have a good time! Also, so that I know you’ve read the rules, please include your favourite colour somewhere in the "anything else" section on the form.
